Acts 6, 2 - 6. 

" The Twelve assembled the community of the disciples

and said, "It is not right for us to neglect the word

of God in order to wait on tables.  Look around among

your own number, brothers, for seven men acknowledged

to be deeply spiritual and prudent, and we will

appoint them to this task.  This will permit us to

concentrate on prayer and the ministry of the word." 

The proposal was unanimously accepted by the

community.  Following this, they selected Stephen, a

man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit .....

You may have heard by now that St. Elizabeth Ann

Seaton has become a Stephen Ministry congregation.

What does this mean?  Our parish is beginning a

ministry that will help us train and organize some of

our members to provide quality care and extend the

caring ministry our pastor and associates already

provide.  Our Stephen Ministers will be led by Mary

O'Brien, Deacon Jerry Hurlbert, Debbie Enger, and

Gerry Boudreau who attended a an intensive seven-day

Leader's Training Course in St. Louis last month to

learn how to organize and direct Stephen Ministry at

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.  Please keep them (and their

families) in your prayers as they lay a strong

foundation for this ministry.  Keep them in your

prayers as they form our parish's ministry.  Keep your
