Stephen Ministry – What’s it all about?

  Actually, it’s all about our CARE RECIEVERS.

“I’m here, all alone, in a lonely room, thinking abandonment thinking of doom.  I thought myself healthy, but they tell me I’m not, I don’t understand just what I’ve got. The Doctors and nurses tell me things I don’t know and can’t understand.  I’ve never known Latin.  I don’t understand. I’ve seen my children nod their heads in belief, but they never really know how deep my belief that God’s not really with me now. I want to think that He and Jesus are here, but no-one seems to even really want to hear where I’m really at. I’ve tried. What I want is someone to bring me more than medication when I need it, more than cleaning-up when I can’t do it myself.  What I really want is someone who can spend some time with me, patiently and not judging me. I want someone to be here with me.”

Quite simply, Stephen Ministry is this and more of what this is about.  If you’re interested – especially if you feel the call or compulsion to serve in this way – believe me, God will provide the time and energy!
